How to get here
From Yangshuo, you can reach us by taxi (¥ 30) or motorbike taxi (¥ 12), ask to be taken to the "helan fandian", the Chinese name for the Outside Inn (show them our business card, which you can print here). Taxis usually stand outside the bus station on the round about. You can call us on 0773 8817109 if you want us to send a taxi (also ¥ 30).
Alternatively, you can walk (about 60 min.) or cycle (about 20 min.). From Yangshuo's bus station, go towards Guilin on Pantao Lu. Just before the gas station turn left. After 100 meters at Yangshuo's only traffic lights cross the main road. Keep going straight into the countryside, stay on the paved road. After 4 kilometers, at the end of Chao Long village, there is a basketball court on the right. Turn right there and follow the path for about 100 meters.
From Guilin airport, which is located approx. 30 km west of Guilin. You can arrange a taxi pickup with us (approx. 70 min.) or take the airport bus (approx. ¥ 20, 30 min.) to Guilin city center from where you change to the main bus station.
From Guilin's main bus station (from the train station, it's best to walk the 10 minutes to the bus station) you can take the express bus to Yangshuo, which takes about 1 ½ hour and costs around ¥ 18. Beware, if you take a slower, local bus (the kind that goes from Guilin's train station), the driver might drop you off near the Yangshuo gas station right into the hands of a tout.
From around China, Hong Kong and Asia Guilin has flights and trains to and from most major cities in China, as well as from Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and other Asian destinations. Air Asia has some great deals in the area.
There is a convenient shuttle service between the airports of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. There are overnight trains from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to Guilin as well as a sleeper bus between Yangshuo and Shenzhen and Yangshuo and Hong Kong. There are also frequent busses to Nanning and onwards to Hanoi.
