Climate

Yangshuo is worth a visit all year round and each season boasts its own charme.

Spring
Usually starts in March, but there can be cold days right into April. The countryside comes alive during this time. Wet days and a high humidity are common during this time of the year. Mystical mist often lingers between the mountains. May and June are the wettest months. However, there are many activities that can be done even during wet days.

Summers
Reaches peak temperatures of around 38 degrees Celsius - and it's often still very humid. Mornings and evenings are cooler. Short downpours and storms are common and usually very welcome.

Autumn
The high humidity and extreme heat usually fade in late September. The air becomes more dry and very comfortable. This wonderful climate often stretches right into December, with the odd cold day or week. Evenings become chilly around the beginning of November.

Winter
January and February can be very cold and often wet, but even during this time, there is an occasional nice and warm day.

With a sub-tropical monsoonal climate and an average annual rainfall of nearly 2,000 millimetres (80 inches), rain is frequent in Yangshuo and can occur during any season.
